Austin Montessori School is currently seeking dedicated, AMI-trained Guides for our Assistants
to Infancy (0–3) and Primary (3–6) environments, as well as committed individuals in training
who are passionate about supporting the development of the whole child.

AMI-trained Primary Guide.
Qualifications
● AMI Primary diploma from an AMI training center
● At least 3 years guiding an AMI Montessori Children’s House community.
● A commitment to education as a means for human development.
● An ability to consider the beliefs and perspectives of others.
● A willingness to support a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
Reports to: Director of Early Childhood Programs
General Description: Children’s House classroom guide leads the planning,
organization, and support for a classroom of students in an authentic Montessori
setting.
Areas of responsibility
Guiding:
● Exhibit reverence, belief, and trust in each child.
● Work in collaboration with and guide each child towards the realization of
their unique potential.
● Ensure quality AMI Montessori lessons are given in accordance with AMI
Primary training in a wide variety of subject areas.
● Establish and maintain an AMI Children’s House Montessori prepared
environment.
● Establish a community based on freedom with responsibility.
● Ensure respect and safety for every child within the community.
● Ensure respect for and provide for individual learning differences.
● Model professional integrity.
● Work in collaboration with colleagues in service of the children.
● Contribute to his/her fair share of the operational needs of the school.
Student Contact and Communication:
● Regular observations of children.
● Regular communication with children regarding difficulties and successes in
work choices, interactions with others, and commitment to the community.
● Establish and maintain a lesson-planning and record-keeping system for the
classroom in general and for each student to discuss any concerns,
academically, socially, or emotionally.

AMI-trained Assistants to Infancy (Toddler) Guide.
Qualifications
● AMI Assistants to Infancy diploma from an AMI training center.
● At least 3 years guiding an AMI Montessori Toddler community.
● A commitment to education as a means for human development.
● An ability to consider the beliefs and perspectives of others.
● A willingness to support a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
Reports to: Director of Early Childhood Programs
General Description: Youngest Children’s (Toddler) classroom guide leads the planning, organization,
and support for a classroom of students in an authentic Montessori setting.
Areas of responsibility

● Ensure quality AMI Montessori lessons are given in accordance with AMI Assistance to Infancy
training in a wide variety of subject areas.

environment.

● Ensure respect and safety for every child within the community.

● Contribute to his/her fair share of the operational needs of the school.
