What AMI Montessori Teacher Training Programs Include
A Montessori teacher training program prepares adults to lead a Montessori classroom, not to attend one. At Montessori Stoppani, training is built on the standards of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), the organization Maria Montessori founded herself, and accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE). Those two credentials are what separate authentic, internationally recognized training from a generic certificate that many schools will not accept. Programs are organized by the age group you plan to work with: 0 to 3 (Nido and Infant Community), 3 to 6 (the Children’s House, or Casa dei Bambini), and 6 to 12 Elementary, with assistant courses covering the same philosophy at a foundational level.
Inside a diploma program you learn to present every Montessori material in sequence, build your own teaching albums, study child development in depth, and complete supervised observation and practicum hours in real classrooms, the hands-on piece most online-only certificates skip and the part hiring directors look for first. A diploma fully qualifies you to lead and prepare an environment for a specific age group, while an assistant course is shorter and more flexible, ideal for parents, classroom assistants, and educators who want a real Montessori foundation. Both are available in online, hybrid, English, and Spanish
Choosing the Right Montessori Certification for Your Goals
Most people who pursue a Montessori certification are career changers drawn to meaningful work with children, conventional teachers who want to move into a Montessori school, parents and homeschoolers who want to use the method at home, or classroom assistants ready to become fully certified guides. The concern behind nearly all of these searches is the same: will this certification actually be recognized, and can I earn it while I work or raise a family? Both are fair, and the answer is why AMI and MACTE accreditation matter so much, because a certification only helps your career if schools trust it.
If you are ready to start, decide the age group you feel drawn to, then choose between a full diploma course for professional teaching and an assistant course for a faster, more flexible foundation. From there you request program details and pricing, complete a simple application, and begin online, hybrid, or in person. Our team speaks with prospective students every week who are unsure which level or format is right, and that conversation usually makes the decision clear within one call.
Why Stoppani Is Trusted for Montessori Certification and Teacher Training
Montessori Stoppani Institute is AMI and MACTE accredited, and the people who deliver the training are why that accreditation means something here. Training Director Alejandra Rosas is an AMI Infant and Nido Community trainer with more than 25 years of Montessori experience and diplomas earned in Italy and San Diego. Cristina De León holds advanced degrees in clinical psychology, pedagogy, and education and serves as an AMI Children’s House trainer and examiner. Across the faculty, trainers bring 20, 25, and in one case more than 40 years of classroom and training experience, several of them active AMI examiners and consultants.
That depth is matched by reach. Stoppani trainers have prepared Montessori educators across the United States and internationally, including in Argentina, Costa Rica, Taiwan, Spain, Mexico, and Peru. Programs run in both English and Spanish and in online, hybrid, and in person formats, so students are not forced to relocate or leave their current work to earn a recognized credential. Select diploma programs also offer master’s degree pathway opportunities for those who want to take their education further.
Why is Montessori Stoppani a trusted choice for certification and teacher training? Because it combines the two credentials that genuinely matter, AMI and MACTE accreditation, with a faculty of internationally recognized trainers and the flexibility to study from anywhere. Request full program details and pricing to see which certification and training path fits your goals, and speak directly with the team that will guide you through it.
