Position Overview

Montessori by the Sea is seeking a warm, nurturing, and dedicated AMI Montessori Nido & Infant Community Guide (0–3) to join our team for an immediate opening during the 2026–2027 school year.

The Montessori Guide serves as the link between the child and the prepared environment, carefully observing each child’s developmental needs while fostering independence, concentration, confidence, and joyful learning during the first three years of life.

We are looking for an educator who is passionate about authentic Montessori education, enjoys collaborating with families and colleagues, and is committed to continuous professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Guide an authentic AMI-aligned Montessori Nido & Infant Community
  • Prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly, and developmentally appropriate environment
  • Observe each child’s development and provide individualized presentations and support
  • Foster independence, movement, language development, and respectful caregiving routines
  • Build trusting and professional relationships with families
  • Maintain accurate student observations and documentation
  • Collaborate with fellow Montessori Guides and Assistants
  • Participate in staff meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities
  • Uphold Montessori by the Sea’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • AMI Montessori 0–3 Diploma or be currently enrolled in an AMI training program
  • 12 California Early Childhood Education Units, or willingness to enroll
  • Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Warm, patient, collaborative, and professional communication style
  • Passion for authentic Montessori education
