Diploma Courses are aimed to acquire a deep understanding of human development in the different stages of life; as well as practical tools to prepare an optimal environment, where children can develop their full potential.
The preparation of the adult includes the study of the child’s self-construction process, as well as a deep understanding of María Montessori’s vision of education as an aid to life; all within a perspective based on contemporary scientific knowledge.
Students also participate in practical sessions of observations, material creation, and group discussions. This preparation leads the guide to obtain the necessary theoretical and practical tools to assist children in their harmonious development.
The 0-3 diploma course begins with an in-depth study of Montessori philosophy, theoretical and practical tools to prepare the home environment, and medical topics related to the health of both the mother and the baby during pregnancy and the first years of life. It also includes supervised practice at the Training Center and student teaching at an AMI-accredited schools.
The second part of the course includes a profound study of the child´s personality development, with a strong focus on optimal brain development during the first 3 years of life.
Students also engage in the preparation of Nido and Infant Communities environments. The course concludes with written and oral exams at the end of the second summer to consolidate and share all that has been learned.
